Greetings!

As you might have noticed, I've removed some of my Harry Potter work. Not because I believe all the negative reveiws, but because hardly anyone who 'reveiwed' my work offered any helpful critique. Most of it was how much they hated the story or what a 'sick' person I was for writing what I had, etc, and etc. Not much in the way of help. People's opinons. I am, however, gratefulto allthe people who enjoyed my work and regret having to remove it.

Since I've made the mistake of forgetting that the guidelines to this site do not allow NC-17 rated fan-fictions, I have, after removingthe storiesmyself, reposted my work over at a where it has gained more positive feedback, and, if there is something I should be doing in a different way regarding my writing, or errors to be corrected, I would hope people could bring it to my attention without the use of name-calling and/or immature behavior. Just saying; "I hate your fic and you suck!" isn't conductive and does nothing to aideme as a writer in improving. And it's useless to tell me that I"have no talent as a writer" when several writingcontests through the years would disagree withyou. Perhaps you do notlike my writing yourself.Fine. That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But, do notassume that youropinion isshared by all.Because, trust me, it is not.

As for my Alan Rickman story: "A Once in a Lifetime Encounter", I have reposted that story over on my aff.net account as well. And, yes, it is perfectly legal to write fan-fiction based on celebrities. So, you can threaten to "call the authorities" and "have me sued" all you want. The following, I believe, some of you will find interesting and at the very least...educational...

Authors write fictitious stories about famous people for the same reason that Larry Flynt made fun of Jerry Falwell, because they can. The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that parodies, (fan-fiction),involving famous people are perfectly and totally legal under the United States Constitution. The specific case law on this was decided in the case of "Hustler Magazine, Inc. et al. v. Jerry Falwell" in 1988. No harm is intended toward the celebrities featured in(my)stories, but they are public figures and in being so, they must accept that they are fair target for parodies,(fan-fiction),by the public. The United States Supreme Court has approved of this type of material.

However, since this site does not approve of such material, either NC-17 or real-person fiction, I've archived my Alan Rickman stories... yes, there is another in the works... at aff.net instead.

For now... Enjoy a PG-13 rated fan-fiction...

Sincerely,

~Ami E. Bowen
