This is a new account, as I lost my previous ones. I joined FFNet at least in 2002.

I love reading and hate writing.

What I look for in fics:

1. In General: The Theme of the story, General impact and Originality.

2. The universe in the fic: Imaginativeness, Premise, Internal Consistency, and Believability.

3. In the characters: Development, Motivation, Internal Consistency, Economics of emotions and Believability.

4. In the rendering: Plotting, Pacing- tension- drama, Drama economics, Language and Believability

In fics I am intolerant of feminization of males, authors misspelling names (like ZAMBINI, for Heaven's sakes!), any fics that have brianless-helpless-pathetic kewpies for main characters, various depressions and post traumatic syndromes that authors don't bother to study on any level and just copy from other fics. These come out in fics as infantile nonsense, temper tantrums, hysterics and histrionics, ignorant "opinions". Also, fics with badly written smut scenes.

In short, if authors don't know something, they should search (at least, the net) for information, form an opinion, and only then talk/write about a subject.

In the "I hate" sector are also Mary Sues and Gary Stus (including canon Sues and Stues, like a "superheroed" Naruto), plots based on a "superheroed" (dark/grey brooding, loner main character Harry-Naruto-whoever, for whom everyone around suddenly feels awe, contrasted by adults turned into idiots (see Harry Potter fandom, plenty of Harry-Dumbledore examples).

Nevertheless, and despite the above, I do not give negative reviews unless a fic or its main characters are totally falling apart at the seams and are utterly impossible to accept within at least a quarter of the criteria given above.
