The Grim Tales Series (Dangan Ronpa)

Grim Tales of the Forbidden Forest: (Officially starting in June!) Twenty-three students are trapped in what could only describe as a "forest of never ending despair". A fitting name for a place so coated in mystery, and as closer you get to the truth, the more despair you will suffer. And that is only a snippet of the lore behind the new setting of the killing game. This time the host is Monomage, a magical wizard who claims to be the greatest mage in ALL THE LAND, who forces the twenty-three students to kill each other in order to escape the Forbidden Forest. However, that is only what the human eye can see from the surface. The true mystery lies in where the students came from... upupupup, BWAHAHAHA!

Grim Tales of the Haunting Hotel: Eighteen (?) hopeful students have recently been enrolled in Hope's Peak, that all too familiar academy of hope. But surprise, surprise! Monokuma is there to ruin their fun, and start the ball rolling on the newest killing game! This time around, we pan to the Esperanza hotel, a rustic little place with a lovely scenic view and beautiful indoor décor. Along with Monokuma is his trusy maid, Monomi! How she got there IS a mystery, along with their entire situations. Filled with doubt and distrust, which side will win? Despair... or hope? And more importantly, will they ever uncover the secrets behind their situation? (Starting soon!)

Form Structure for the Grim Tales series (Leaving this up for future reference. You may notice, for those of you who participated in FF, that I have added a few things to it! Well, I accidently forgot to include a few things last time (DUR!), BUT most of it is minor stuff that is only used for the introduction anyway.)

EXTRA NOTE: I'm being SUPER generous leaving this here. If I were you and wanted to be in Haunting Hotel, I would start prepping my character right now! Of course, for those of you who don't take advantage because either they're lazy, have actual lives outside being a fangirl/boy (I don't, btw), or just didn't see this, don't worry your silly little cheeks :3 Time will be given to submit characters for everyone, which varies depending on the rate my inbox is filled with submission. Default time is five days, however.

Name: From HH and up, foreign characters are encouraged to be sent in, like Bernhart over there! Most SYOCs usually use the one or two foreigners rule, BUT for reasons I decided to throw that rule out the window for diversity purposes. NOW I am saying that I still need Japanese characters (Hope's Peak is in Japan), but don't be discouraged if you want a foreigner in!

Gender: It's a sensitive thing, I know, but if there is you'd like to mention regarding their gender, put it here.

Age: 14-18, regular high school ages. If you have a Hagakure-esque character, you might want to provide a reason for that.

Birth Date: Year not required.

Super High School Level: Quick note; no NSFW talents. Hope's Peak is a prestigious government-funded school (as fucked-up as it might seem), so accepting Super High School Level Prostitutes might not be good for business (there are possibilities that they MIGHT exist, but we won't explore that much farther). Also, PLEASE do not use talents from DR1 and DR2, as well as from FF. A list of taken talents below.

Height: For both height and weight, I would very much appreciate imperial units (feet, pounds, inches), as I have a better understanding of those measurements. What can I say? I'm a Yankee (not technically, no).

Weight:

Appearance: Basically, ask yourself these questions: what does my character look like? Include things like hair, eyes, skin tone, build and physique, marks or birthmarks, scars, or anything else that you feel like mentioning. Remember this isn't real life, so you can make them as attractive as possible, go ahead. If you want to make the ugly, go ahead. Your efforts are appreciated.

Clothes: What do they wear on a regular basis? Get creative; matching their talents is certainly appreciated, but not necessary. Keep in mind that this is the outfit they'll be wearing for the majority of their time in the story. For bonus points, include what they wear on the beach or pool and when they're sleeping. You don't have to, but it is very much appreciated.

Personality: Yes, this is where it really counts. I know it's difficult for some of you, I understand. But you must understand that this is the part I really need in order to understand your character. The more care you put into this part, the better I can write your character. Please understand that. Just simply listing adjectives won't help.

Sexuality: LGBT characters are very much allowed :3 I had quite a few back in FF, and i'm not in any place to judge anyone. If that's not really your cup of tea, then I recommend against following the Grim Tales series. NOTE: Grim Tales will not focus on romance, but there might be romantic subtext. With that said, I can't promise anything regarding your character's love life.

Backstory: You know how this works. Try to give them a well-developed feel to them. The backstory should explain how they got their talent, how their personality developed, how they got recognized by Hope's Peak, or any such thing as that. In fact, if you're drawing a blank, you could delegate the work to me and i'll chalk a backstory up for you. I might or might not inform you, but everyone will find out eventually.

Quirks/Habits: Typical quirks or habits they have, like picking their nose or scratching their head when they're nervous. They can have several of them, but try to be creative. Try to think of habits you have, first of all.

Likes: A list of a few things that they like. Self-explanatory.

Dislikes: See above.

Positive Features: Self-explanatory. Any amount over two is fine, but try to keep a balance between the amount of Positive and Negative features.

Negative Features:

Quotes: Give me a feel on how they talk. Ex: Introduction, during free time, seeing someone's corpse, being accused of murder, admitting that they're the culprit, reaction to the introduction of mutual killing.

Free Time: Basically, what would they do during their free time? Or will they even be legible for free time?

Execution: Optional. What do you have in mind for executions? Note that they're generally symbolic on several factors. Analyze any of the official executions and you'll find lots of interesting ironies.

Other: Anything else I missed?
