Hi. Me again. All right, I’ve decided it’s time to let anyone who might read my future, potential works to know how I feel about my favorite works (games, books, movies, etc.), major characters, couples I support and fanfiction in general. So brace yourself for a long rant about my opinion, but I figure if you’re passionate about something, why not overdo it?

All right, first off I love fanfiction in general, possibly even more so than the original works that inspired them; but only if it’s done well. Characters should stay true to their original counterparts with only minor tweaks to suit the story, or at least be plausibly so (unless the story calls for a complete opposite). The story should have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Even in a one-shot. The beginning should draw in the reader while also setting the scene. The middle needs good pace, build the tension, and give sufficient detail. And the end should give have a satisfying conclusion. Plot and presentation is also important. I’ve seen too many good concepts ruined by an ineffective storyline.

Of course, this only really applies to literature and, on occasion, comics. Visual arts are something I suck at. I can barely recognize myself when I make a self-portrait. So I respect and admire those gifted with such talent. In this case, quality and effort is something I look for. Anyone can make 100 crappy pictures (including myself) but it takes talent and skill to make 1 good picture.

As for poetry, I also can’t write this effectively. As a result, I don’t like poetry. I’m not going to bash on those who enjoy it. I just don’t.

Speaking of bashing and hating, I have a 0 tolerance for it. That applies to me and readers both. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs, and we should all respect that.
