A funny thing happened on vacation in South Dakota...denied a decent cell phone signal and internet access, I began to write.

Not entirely true. A long, long time ago I wrote (but never published -- I don't think Fanfiction.net was invented yet!) some stories about Mulder and Scully and the X-Files. I also wrote many papers for school and graduate school. And even a paper or two for my daughters... (Bad Mommy)

Like many fans and fanfic writers I was a bit adrift after LOST ended. I miss that cursed island and its misfit residents. I was satisfied wtih the end. As much as I wonder what happened to Ben and Hurley or the six who left in the plane, their adventures havent made it out of my imagination.

I get my island fix now on Monday night with the new Hawaii five-o.

Graduate school and work and two new grandbabies take up most of my leisure fic writing time so there won't be many stories coming your way on this site. (I'm also in the middle of writing my own full length romance novel and a play) But suggestions, criticism/encouragement and stray plot bunnies are welcome... I'm learning alot about writing from writing this stuff.

Chet Gecko is the name of the lizard protagonist in a children's detective series my youngest son used to read. I always enjoyed sharing those books with him as the author had a way of putting bits and pieces in there that referenced the adult world without contaminating the childhood innocence of the overall story. Like a literary Sesame Street or Veggie Tales...they way they used to be when my now grown kids were little, before either made the "big time".
