Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter. I'm trying to get a Harry Potter fanfic community going... if you're so inclined, click this and take a shot at registering. Here's a brief rundown of yours truly: 16, Male, American, sort of a geek (course, who isn't who writes here). I read history a lot with a smattering of fiction along with the New York Times and Economist. I particularly love and admire John Steinbeck's work (read: Cannery Row) and I obviously like Harry Potter too (though it's a distant second to Steinbeck. He was a Nobel Laureate, for Christ's sake). I also enjoy music, mostly rock, along with jazz, baroque, and hip hop. Particulars include U2, Pablo Casals, Bach, Miles Davis, and, of course, the Beatles. I also follow the Mariners obsessively. I'm a moderately active and very, very liberal Episcopalian. I publish a blog, if you noticed from my homepage link. Head on over and see my thoughts on whatever I'm... thinking about? Anyway. What I abhor are stories with bad fundamentals. If your story sucks as a story or because of writing (i.e. stylistic fuck ups and obscure grammatical infractions), it's probably not your fault, because I get the feeling most of us don't know enough yet to write a decent one. Otherwise, why the hell would we be writing fanfiction? But you do have a responsibility to make them legible. if u dont, u sux. I digress. Regardless, please just edit your stories or beta them, or just say up front that you're lazy. You're getting published, even if it is the Internet. Thatcovers most of the things I feel will influence me on FF.n, beyond that crazy shit that happens every day. Peace Harry "andesXYZ" Potter And remember: if mistakes was haystacks, there'd be a helluva lot more fat ponies than there is. |
