Hello, I’m Shadsie.

I originally took an online handle after a cat named "Shadow" that once owned me and it evolved into "Shadsie" over the years.

I've been a fanfiction writer for a variety of fandoms. I keep a Deviant Art page. I'm also on Ao3. Otherwise, I am not overly chatty on social media. I'm on Facebook but mostly for keeping in touch with distant family and a few friends. I now have a tumblr: shadsiethewriter - seldom used / used mainly for art and writing posts.

As of last update of this profile, in Dec. 2018, I am an active writer, but most things pre-2008 I consider somewhat cringe-worthy and everything pre-2004 on here is "Old Shame" that I keep up anyway, because the evolution of writing is a good thing to examine and providing stuff for snarking should be every old-timer fanfiction writer's charitable duty.

I write for a lot of stuff, but the bulk of my fan-writing over the last decade has been for video games, particularly Nintendo titles. I believe that I am best known among fans of The Legend of Zelda.

Status of In-Progress Stories: - Legend of Zelda crossovers older than 2011 (abandoned). The National Anthem universe of crossovers between Nintendo / Super Smash Bros. and The Hunger Games (pending - possibly abandoned, but with some hope for fresh greenlight if I can get the "oomph" for a fresh chapter I have in mind). Arise - A Fire Emblem: Awakening horror tale (abandoned). Tales of the Way-Station - A Super Smash Bros. variety tale (abandoned). Everything else I finish - I tend to write concise stories.

Possibly my best-known fic is the old Zelda piece, The Great Desert. -- I personally think at this point that it's a mess. It seems to be one of those "loved or hated" stories for a lot of people and was famous (for a fanfiction level of famous in a non-Harry Potter or My Little Pony fandom) for a while. If you came to my profile because you saw that fic linked elsewhere, I do not need to know how many problems there are with it that various reviewers have pointed out, I already know about them. I will, however, always treasure the fic despite its many problems because I co-wrote it with a friend for fun.

If you are here because of my other most-famous piece, Wolfhide - (a Zelda horror story that seems to shock most people with its premise, despite its story-direction being pretty clear), well... I'm still proud of that one.

A World of Rusted Dreams - Two friends in a ruined world seek to visit a distant city with their mysterious spiritual guardians that cannot be seen by those that cannot believe in them. They experience discrimination and perception-shifts as they learn about the world beyond the little town of their birth and must uncover and decide what they really believe.

Malarkey and Belinda - A gryphon created by magic and science as a weapon of war bonds to the house-slave tasked with raising him instead of to his intended master. Together, they become embroiled in rising tensions between Humanity and nature while seeking their freedom.
