OTP: Olicity Beauty & the Beast (2012). Kinda sorta a remake of the 1980s series, but with different mythology. Catherine Chandler is a detective for the NYPD. Vincent Keller is a veteran who used to be a doctor, before he was forced to "die" and live in hiding (with awesome friend JT). Vincent feels obligated to use his genetically-enhanced powers to help others, which is how Catherine meets him (he saves her life). And -- crucially -- this Vincent is smokin' hot. Yowza. OTP: VinCat Lois & Clark (new adventures of Superman). Based on the post-crisis characters - Clark Kent is a guy who just wants a job, a girl, a normal life - but still feels obligated to use his superpowers to help people (hmm, I'm sensing a theme here). Also, he's super-hot. Solution? Secret identity! Which, unsurprisingly, leads to a lot of other problems. I wasn't all that interested until Lois started getting over Superman and falling for Clark, instead (good choice, girl!), and then found out she didn't have to choose after all. Lois in on the secret is much more fun. I made a few music vids for this, years and years ago. I spent fifteen years with this fandom. Good times, good times. Other interests - the Avengers, Castle, anything with Nicholas Hoult in it... Married to a guy who keeps up with all sorts of super-hero shows/movies, some of which I like (okay, yeah, he's the one who introduced me to L&C, BatB, and Arrow). I try to review a lot, but only if I have something good to say. I am not a Grammar Nazi but I've been writing for a long time and some things aggravate me, so I might say something mildly critical, or send a PM with a longer critique. I'm not flaming, honest, just trying to help writers who already have talent to sharpen their skills because those are two different things, and skills can be learned. That's how I learned, after all. |
