It's now 2017 (3.5 years since I last updated the profile)... The site's a lot different than it was when I first arrived here, back in the days when user i.d.'s were still only four digits (they're up to seven now!) and the long-since defunct Writer's U. wasn't a gleam in Xing's eyes. I notice that many of the writers I used to enjoy no longer seem to write, or at least not as prolifically as in the past. My output has also dropped dramatically as the real world has imposed itself on my hobbies; and of course I think that happened just as my writing was starting to get where I wanted it to be. Very sad.

Anyway, I'm still here, though far less frequently so barely ever. Perhaps that'll change if I can find a group of authors in this new "generation" on the site (or more importantly, if I can find a fandom that inspires me like I haven't been since mid-Season 2 of BSG... yup, it's been that long).

My personal tastes tend toward the dark (and not in the tortured teen angst "Oh I'm so dark and misunderstood, woe is me," emo way, but in the "Gee, I just wiped out half of the cast in my fic" way), so if you like that kind of writing (and some extinct fandoms), then check me out. For those of you who like happy endings, you'd probably prefer not to read my stuff. (I don't generally believe in happy, Hollywood endings.) I also like to write long, drawn out tales with (overly) obsessive thought given to plot and character. If you're a writer of like mind (for a look at my mind, read over my fanfic axioms), or if you want to try something different, then give me a try.

Oh, and another thing... I have absolutely no problem with negative opinion in reviews. I just appreciate constructive criticism (something like, "Your plotline was too derivative, and character development seemed forced") rather than mere derogatory comments (like "Boy did that suck goldfish ass"). So don't feel a need to write something nice if you found nothing you like in something I wrote -- I'm a big boy, my ego can take it.

Finally, I've gone to the trouble of listing some favorite authors and stories in the space provided below. If you like something I've written, then I highly recommend you check out this other stuff, as well. I think it's some of the best on the site, and you'll be all but guaranteed of finding something that catches your fancy. In fact, I decided I like Icy Mike Molson's stuff so much, we've written a little together as Icy Mike Molson and Nevermore.
