FANFIC PROGRESS:

9/11/19 - Chapter 26 of What's Her Name in Hufflepuff is "done". I need to do some proof reading and some slight rewrites but it will be up on space battles on Friday and up here on Saturday (I get way more reviews when I post here on weekends for some reason).

9/10/19 - 16 pages (decided to delete one scene too). One more scene to write. I think I'm going to make the end of the week deadline. *high fives herself like a huge nerd* I'll tackle all of those typos that were pointed out last month after the chapter is done. Doing that is kind of energy enthusiasm sapping to me (too much like my real job I guess).

9/5/19 - 13 pages. I think I can get the chapter out by the end of next week.

09/03/19 - 11 pages of the next chapter of What's Her Name in Hufflepuff is done. Its looking like this will be a 20 page chapter. It will cover a lot more time than usual though.

08/28/19 - Look at me, I've got 6 pages written of "What's Her Name...". Not the best progress, but at least it's progressing now. Work isn't kicking my butt anymore either so I should have more time to write (and hopefully that statement doesn't jinx me).

8/15/19 - I'm not going to lie. I have only 3 pages done of Chapter 26 of What's Her Name in Hufflepuff. I've been crazy busy at work AND I've got a bad case of writers block. I'm not giving up or anything. I think about the story constantly (I literally lay awake at night obsessing), but everything I write is coming up garbage right now.

7/31/19 - Fixed some typos pointed out to me in reviews. I disagreed with a couple of them, but I did look and consider all of them. I greatly appreciate anyone who helps point out typos. No matter how many times I proofread chapters, I always seem to miss something.

7/21/19 - Chapter 25 is up. I also fixed some typos my friendly neighborhood typo reviewer pointed out for Chapter 24. Sorry, I had meant to put the chapter up on Saturday, but got distracted by video games...

ABOUT ME:

I'm a thirty something lady who loves fantasy, anime, and science fiction. Fiction without any kind of sci-fi or fantasy angle bore me to tears which is probably a major personality flaw or something. Unless it's the Golden Girls. One of my finest moments was running a Call of Cthulhu game where everyone played as the Golden Girls.

I'm a professional paid writer, but not in a fun way. I work as a technical writer writing manuals. Yes, it is as soul sucking as that sounds. It pays okay though? And I do get to tell people I'm a professional writer even if its not the kind I had always wanted to be.

I wrote more in my late teens and early twenties and most of my stories are from then. Most of those stories are very much okay. I'm not ashamed of them, but they're not up to my current standards. The sole exception to that would be Learning which I think still holds up rather well.

In the past year, I've gotten into writing again and decided to tackle a self insert story. I'm well aware that these tend to be awful, but I've always felt that they don't have to be. I'm trying to write a self insert that isn't cringy wish fulfillment where everything goes well for the main character. It's the character flaws and mistakes that make the journey interesting. Let's face it, most of us wouldn't be super awesome badasses if thrust into a fantasy world unless we're in a story designed for little kids (I would rule the Pokemon world with my iron fist!). We'd fumble around, make mistakes, and any progress we made in stopping the bad guy or making a name for ourselves would be hard earned.

I read a lot of fanfiction as well. I'm pretty picky and would recommend most of the stories in my favorites. If you're like me and 'favorite hop' around trying to find new stories to read I think you can find some real gems in my favorites especially among the Labyrinth stories.
