When I was 6 one of the nuns at my Catholic school asked each child what he or she wanted to be when they grew up. Without hesitation I replied, "A witch!" By age 8 I had settled on being a writer. I love the gothic, fantasy, and science fiction genres and I love writing. I used to write fan fiction in the Anne Rice category until she made clear that she wouldn't allow fan fiction. Now I enjoy reading Lord of the Rings (where I'm a huge fan of many of the fantastic writers and leave regular Lady M comments) fic and also Buffy/Angel. Lately, I've also become addicted to Harry Potter and I'm proud to be Aspen in the Sunlight's beta reader. A few years ago, after the disbanding of the Vampire Chronicles fan community, I was introduced to the obscure but critically acclaimed Wraeththu series by Storm Constantine. I eagerly cowrote a epic fan fiction with Wendy Darling, which was set within the time frame of Bewitchments of Love and Hate. Storm, an active participant in her fandom, decided to publish our story, Breeding Discontent, as a shared world novel under her small publishing house, Immanion Press. The book is available on Amazon and directly from In RL I'm happily married and working towards adopting a baby since medical situations prevent me from having one of my own. One may notice this theme popping up in my fiction and the stories I chose to review and/or beta. When I'm especially lazy, I also review under the name Lady M. |
