![]() Author has written 32 stories for Power Rangers, and Harry Potter. NAME CHANGE TO HAPPEN SOON! Well, it's finally happened -- a real-life friend has googled my name, and discovered that I write fanfic. Thankfully, they know very little, if anything, about fandom as such and their English isn't good enough to read fiction in any case, I think, but still -- after 20 years of online activity under my real name, I think it's time to do what I probably should've done all along and use a pseudonym. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm in no way ashamed of my writing, but I would prefer my fannish activity be kept separate from RL and people who don't know (and don't care) what it's all about ... and who haven't been internet-savvy enough up till now to connect certain dots. So I'll be changing my name to how I'm already known on Archiveofourown (AO3) and LiveJournal/Dreamwidth -- germankitty. I'm a female writer who's almost old enough to have given birth to most of the MMPR Ranger actors; this most likely means I'm old enough to be (or am possibly older than) your mother; deal with it! ;-) I totally blame my son for having gotten me into both of my current fandoms in the first place! Although, I used to read and write Star Trek:TOS in pre-internet days, when we actually bought something called "fanzines", ordered and delivered by snail mail ... I'm also not writing in my native language. Any reviewers and language nitpickers, please be gentle? General interests include reading, reading, some arts & crafts, watching TV, cooking and READING ... erm, did I mention I love reading? It's mostly sf/fantasy and historical novels for books, although I've also been known to grab a Tom Clancy or W.E.B. Griffin novel from time to time. I've also recently branched out into Harry Potter; as usual (for me, anyway), I've started by writing my slash OTP (Draco/Harry) -- and for the record, I never got the importance of who tops whom when I decide to write penetrative sex. Bluntly put, I don't give a flying fig and will always let the story tell me (unless I'm writing to a specific prompt), so expect switching, implied or graphic, as default for my stories. Please read the A/Ns! I've also been adopted by a plotbunny that keeps pushing me towards an epilogue-compliant Draco/Astoria story. If I ever get around to writing it, it'll be yet another epic, which means it'll take TIME to plot out and write. Same goes for that PR/HP crossover plot poodle that won't go away. Hmph. Oh yeah, and just for the record? The HP kids are, without exception, younger than my own son. As it happens, though, I'm not quite the only representative of my age group there, which is rather nice. :-) *waves at fellow The genre I'm primarily writing in is romance/drama, with a few gen fics strewn in; if you're looking for action/adventure, I'm not the right author for you :-). I love exploring the characters, their motivations and what drives them. I also concentrate pretty much on the first three seasons of PR (MMPR to Zeo/Turbo); there have been a few nibbles of ideas on Time Force, but nothing so far has gelled on that. Go complain to my Idiot Muse(TM) about that! I have a couple of PR fics to finish, and I honestly want to do it, but please don't expect any new stuff from me; over the years, I've more or less drifted away from the fandom due to the constant format and cast changes in the show. I still look back with fondness; I've read great fics and met wonderful people, but neither the interest nor the spark is what it used to be, and I've all but left. The death of my good friend Mele in October 2016 just speeded the process. Back to PR, I've also written two collaborations, one with the excellent Cmar -- Strangers In Red -- that links both her "Turns In The Road" Wes/Eric slash series with my own Jason/Tommy story "More Than Friends And Brothers". The other one was done with the equally brilliant Cheryl Roberts -- Seasons To Remember -- a Tommy/Kim, Jason/Kat romance explaining that annoying Zeo Christmas Episode of the same title to our liking. :-) Please check them out, and if you like, leave a review? Please? I also have permission from Cheryl to post her stories in a collection over at Archiveofourown; hopefully, I'll get around to starting that this year, twenty years after I met her. (Can't believe it's been that long!) Speaking of "More Than Friends And Brothers" once more, here's a preliminary timeline for the events in that story (I'm going by airdates on PR): Forever Red – some time in 2002. Chapter 1 – during PR Dino Thunder, spring 2004. Chapter 2 – next morning, but refers to events in 2001 and January 2002. (There's a slight discrepancy to the sequence of events depicted in "Strangers In Red", but it's irrelevant to the story and didn't seem worth changing. Still, sorry!) Chapters 3,4 and 5 – spring 2005, after PRDT has ended. Chapter 6 – a few weeks later. Chapter 7 – October 2005. Chapter 8 – early 2006. Chapter 9 -- late December 2008, right after Christmas Chapters 10 to 15 - spring/summer 2009 Chapter 16: Late November 2009 Chapter 17: 2013 Chapter 22: 2019/2020 Chapter 23: summer 2020 This will be amended as the story unfolds. :-) If you're old enough and in the mood to read the uncut, NC-17 version of my stories, please look them up at the following archives -- ETA: It looks as if the links aren't working; sorry about that. So look for germankitty at www.archiveofourown.org (AO3) and for adult_rangers or germankitty on www.dreamwidth.org, Dagmar at adult-fanfiction.org, or Dagmar Buse at www.lunaescence. com. The most complete collection is at AO3, including the fics I contributed to the "Observe the Viewing Globe" anthology (the brainchild of Cheryl Roberts and Willow Blessing); these were formerly only available at a couple of password-protected archives. Whatever's missing at AO3 will get posted there eventually, as time permits. Oh, one more word of warning: I'm the wrong person to look for if all you want are quick reads; my writing tends to be more on the epic (= long) scale. Anyway, enjoy -- and feedback is always appreciated. ;-) |
