Lestrade was used to getting odd, non sequitur texts from Sherlock. But when "John went out for milk" was followed by a terse "two hours ago," Lestrade immediately understood three things: John was missing, Sherlock was quietly panicking, and this could all end very, very badly.

Lestrade helps Sherlock home after the events in Belgravia. And gets a little leverage along the way.

A so far unpleasant situation suddenly turns into a possibly life-threatening one, and soon John finds himself, together with Lestrade, facing a race against the clock to save his best friend's life. Sherlock Holmes is a creature of the night. Always has been. But who knew?

Sherlock is hurt badly during yet another chase down a dark alley. He ends up unconscious and is taken straight to the nearest hospital, but John doesn't know the real damage until Sherlock wakes up.

On the few times that John actually notices Sherlock's humanity, it gives him a sense of being refreshed. Sherlock's only human. It's nice to see. Series of oneshots highlighting Sherlock's emotions, because we all know that he has them. Rated M: Chapter Seventy-Four for swearing and mentions of drug use; it's skippable. In a bid repair his image and win back public confidence following the Magnussen mess, Sherlock is forced by Mycroft to give an interview to a popular weekend magazine. As the interviewer gets progressively more personal in a bid to know "the man beneath the hat", Sherlock tries harder to downplay his true thoughts and feelings – to the detriment of certain personal relationships.

Sherlock and John are both on record as believing the other to be "the best and wisest man" he has ever known. In this story John demonstrates his wisdom by asking something very particular of Sherlock, and Sherlock demonstrates a bit of his own with his answer. Oh, and he solves a murder, too. Set between A Scandal in Belgravia and The Hound of Baskerville.

A string of mysterious murders, a kidnapping, and a threatening message. There's a new game afoot, except this time Sherlock isn't sure he wants to play. But then, it's not like he has a choice. He promised, after all. Whump. COMPLETE!

The doctor had just asked how bad the pain was when the pain spiked. Sherlock's initial response was a gasp that evolved into a whimper. "Ten," he gasped. "Ten..."

Chasing after a pyromaniac bomber Sherlock and John wind up in a deserted building which explodes and leaves them trapped under the rubble, both severely injured. One-shot. Hard-core bromance.

After running off by himself again, Sherlock is forcibly given a dose of LSD. Unable to tell the difference between reality and hallucinations, he unwillingly and unknowingly gives everyone an unfiltered look into his own mind. And what they see is startling. OneShot. Mentions of child abuse. Wear wichever goggles you choose.

Molly is going to finally confront Sherlock. She hopes. A short one shot that I imagine to happen somewhere after season 3, shameless Sherlolly fluff. Spoiler alerts (kinda) for anyone who hasn't finished season 3.

To be fair, Sherlock knows that what he's about to do is more than a Bit Not Good. After all, he's stealing Molly Hooper's wedding limo. With Molly inside it. In her wedding dress. On her wedding day. But even he can't predict the outcome when you mix Molly, mayhem and Elvis Presley's greatest hits. How will the Runaway Bride and the Great Detective get along? Shameless foof.

A massive storm keeps John trapped in Baker Street with a half-blind (for science!), very bored Sherlock Holmes.

It's necessary to pay your debts, but sometimes, it's just not possible to find the words. Isn't that what friends are for? One-shot visit from an old army buddy of John's.

John insists that Sherlock needs a holiday to which the detective keeps dismissing but all that changes when 'The Starry Night' by Vincent Van Gogh gets stolen. Sherlock is in luck that John has a cousin in Paris willing to put him up during his visit. Perhaps our favourite detective may solve the one mystery no one has every come to fully understand. Love
