On a business trip, Lex Luthor sees two boys walk through a brick wall between platforms Nine and Ten. When a sticklooking object is discovered where the boys were, Lex flies it back to Smallville to have it tested.

During their third year, Harry and his friends are introduced to the Hippogriff. But, when the trio along with Draco and Neville are abandoned by the Hippogriffs on a deserted island, they must take refuge in an ancient tower forgotten by the school.

Students go their separate ways for the Holidays. Harry and Ron struggle with their friendship while Draco fights to impress Hermione's father. The Dark Lord continues to draw closer.
