Takes place directly after episode 1x04, The Good Soldier. Aramis has just buried Marsac, and the pain of the past raises doubts about his worthiness to be the lone survivor of Savoy. Can his brothers find him before he refuses to draw his next breath?

'There was no time to warn the marksman, the new opponent lifted the axe he was carrying into the air and brought it down on the unaware musketeers back. Aramis crashed to the ground.' The four are captured by bandits, Aramis is injured and d'Artagnan is getting some unwelcome attention. They have their work cut out as they try to escape.

When Athos, Porthos, and Aramis transfer a prisoner from New York to Rhode Island, they stay overnight at a seaside hotel to relax before heading home...but trouble strikes in ways that they never expected. (Modern AU taking place after 'Backfired' and 'Internal War'. My entry in the Fete des Mousquetaires contest for August!)

While under strict orders to rest, Aramis manages obedience by passing time observing those around him. But when he witnesses what he believes to be a murder, 'rest' takes a back seat to solving it whether his brothers like it or not. Entry in the August's Fete des Mousquetaires challenge.

A novelization of the scenes from the episode "Through a Glass Darkly," in which I have extended the moments with some artistic license, to tell the tale of Aramis coming to the rescue of Queen Anne and the Dauphin.

Author's Note: When writing this, my memory of the series' events served me wrong. This story assumes Aramis knew his pistol was used by the Cardinal to kill Adele, so it is therefore slightly AU.

Porthos should not cheat at cards and Aramis should learn to think before he speaks. But who is really at fault?
