During a quest, Prince Arthur and Merlin encounter a strange magic fog. The situation soon turns deadly for Merlin when he is forced to sacrifice himself for Arthur. Merlin is injured and Arthur must get him back to Camelot before it's too late.

Amidst a battle between kingdoms, Arthur sends Merlin along with other civilians to Anthrop Castle, a presumably safe place to wait out the war. But later, Arthur realizes just how bad the idea was when the enemy decides to attack Anthrop Castle first. Short fic with Merlin whumpage.
