Shindo Hikaru lost his voice due to a tragic accident when he was young. Sai disappeared from his life and year after his grandfather died. He's alone. He moved to Tokyo, perhaps to find something that will prove his existence or to be fit in a place he can call his own.

After a while, Hikaru learned to tune out Sai's dramatic gestures and chatter. What he never managed to block out were the moments of silence. At first, when he had just met the ghost, he didn't even notice, or was glad for a moment's peace. Sai wakes up to find everything he'd gone through to be a dream; he is a professional Go player that has already conquered the top players. Hikaru was turned to the hacker world at an early age. Haunted by Sai, she reluctantly integrates Go into her carefully crafted world. Of course, she uses multiple personalities as an excuse to everyone else, seeing as how she has the bad habit of being a con artist. Hikaru, unable to bear Akira's disappointment after defeating him at the Kaio game, comes up with a clever plan that will let Akira play Sai again while keeping his identity a secret. Somebody really should stop Hikaru when he's feeling clever.

Hikaru never made himself publicly known to the Go world, preferring to stay within the shadows of NetGo. But even he knows he can't stay hidden forever, not when Sai disappears. It's time to fulfill the Go master's last wish.
