Scotty gets roped into fixing the busted transporter, which is fine and dandy until it goes off in the middle of repairs and drops him somewhere unexpected and unpleasant. When he becomes stranded there, Scotty decides it's definitely the worst day off he has ever had. Well, one of. Could be worse. Maybe... Oneshot.

Leonard McCoy is not just the chief medical officer of the Enterprise - he also holds the rank of Lieutenant Commander (not that anyone on this tin can had ever noticed). One day, McCoy finds the bridge completely abandoned. Now the good doctor must put down the hyposprays and take a seat in the captain's chair in order to keep the Enterprise in the sky and bring his people home.

There are some fears that cannot be resolved.

They've been debating this thing since the day they met. Once they become friends, the argument becomes more of a conversation. With time, maybe more of a declaration. (AU, loosely based on the movie When Harry Met Sally. K&U.)

"It is my intent that our ship become our home away from home, and our crew a family. I can only hope that I may prove myself worthy of both." With those words, Kirk took command of the Enterprise. A year later, he has a chance to live up to those words.
