AU set after ep15. Damon's emotions finally get the better of him and he skips town. In his absence, Elena is increasingly miserable without him. Realizing how much he matters to her, she goes looking for him. Because someone needs to pick him, just once.

Elena and Damon have been trapped in a cave by Katherine; with no knowledge of the outside world, the two of them have to figure out how to get out and what they're going to do to Katherine when they finally do.

After the carnival Elena gets sick and has to stay in bed. Her only confidante is her beloved stuffed teddy bear. And that's when she realizes something. One-shot, random and fluffy. Spoilers for 1x18 'Under Control' and 2x02 'Brave New World'.
