In order to save the world sometimes you've got to make some sacrifices. Unfortunately sometimes it costs more than it's worth. I really need more action on S1E16 when Elizabeth could have died in Iran. This is my take. Please read and review. Rating may change in the foreseeable future I'm not quite sure yet.

Life in the state department is tough, Elizabeths masquerade is beginning to fall away; Iran changed her and the ones closest to her are beginning to catch glimpses of the person she hides behind her mask. Alison faces her own difficulties at school just like her mother did. This is not about what happened in Iran. This is about what happens in the heart of the McCord family.

"There are moments that define a life. They are unpredictable and most come without any warning. It's who we are in these moments and their aftermath that becomes the truest measure of our character." My imagination piecing together bits of detail from the season 2 premiere. *HIATUS*

Jason McCord is not as "blissfully unaware" as his family thinks in Tamerlane/Face The Nation. Mostly told from his POV, although some from Henry's as well.

Stemmed from the fight in "There but for The Grace Of God". It just didn't sit well with me. So this attempts to tell the story of how they got to that fight and how they moved past it to strengthen the relationship they have now; through a series of promises. There will be lots of flashbacks :)

A lot has been done with the Iran storyline from Elizabeth's perspective. This is going to be entirely from Henry's. Again, things in italics are thoughts not spoken aloud.

The family has a hard time dealing with Elizabeth after her trip to Iran, especially Jason.

Perfection is an illusion and it is just a matter of time until the illusion fades.

This story is going to follow the life of Elizabeth McCord and her family as they all adjust to her new job. It won't be easy, but they will get through it together.

Elizabeth loses something valuable. A little angst, a little fluff.

What happens in "Standoff" after it fades to black. Smut.
