Having won the war, a tired Harry goes back in time to try to kill Tom Riddle as a child. What he did not predict however, was becoming attached to the boy. Realising that he couldn't kill him, Harry pretends that Tom is his brother in hopes of changing him and thus changing the future for the better. AU. No pairings. No slash. Some angst and some humour.

The events at the end of the Triwizard Tournament have left Harry feeling just a little bit paranoid.

Harry is in his sixth year. Strange happenings are going on and Harry strives to figure them out and piece them all together. He meets new faces when the Triwizard Tournament begins at Hogwarts, but he is entered unwillingly into the tournament without a clue as to who did it, along with feeling helpless as Voldemort begins his rise to power.

The war is over and the summer is just getting started for Harry. Things should be better, but Harry's summer looks as dismal as ever. Hermione is in Australia - Ron and Ginny are holed up at the Burrow helping the family 'mend'. And trouble - loads of it, is just around the corner. HP/OC Rated M for adult themes and content.

During Christmas at Grimmauld Place, Harry and Ginny realize they can help each other overcome the memories of their past. Watching them, Sirius finds the courage to forgive himself for his past mistakes and start living again. Umbridge, however has other plans. She expels the couple, starting them on a very perilous journey. *Mentions of child abuse and alcohol/substance use*

Most self-inserts are exercises in vanity, and nothing says 'vanity' quite like Gilderoy Lockhart. But with a new personality and knowledge of the future, who knows? Maybe Lockhart will turn out to be a useful DADA teacher after all.
