As if trying to fit in with the real world wasn't hard enough, try trying to fit in when you're a mutant turtle. It took awhile, but we finally figured out that mutants and humans just couldn't be romantically involved. I accepted it, but I found an alternative. Sadly, that alternative was looking me dead in the eye while having no idea about the things I thought towards him.

It's believed that there's a dark and foreign self in every person and darkness is a place that awakens this agressive stranger. He made that promise a lot. Always had. He didn't know what else to say, what else could possibly be enough to show he cared. These promises were his biggest regrets yet the only thing keeping him from closing his eyes. TW: Death, injury.

When there's nothing left. When you feel all alone. When you're standing on the literal ledge, what do you do? Do you jump or do you take a step back? "Stay back!" She screamed at the creature behind her. "Or... I'll jump!" It was silent for a second before he spoke, "You jump and I'll catch you and I'll either save you or we'll both fall."

"No, the truth is, I am scared of what he has not done yet, but easily could. Hurting you beyond repair. Taking you away from us... That is what scares me the most. You always try to see the good in others, and while that is an admirable trait to have, it can easily put you in danger."

"I'm sorry little brother," I whisper, sadly, "But I can't stay here." Mikey's blue eyes bear into mine and I look away. I can't take it. I don't want to hurt my family anymore. They may be pained by me leaving now but soon they will understand. Soon they will realize me not being here is better for everyone.
