An attempt to reconstruct the events of season 4, particularly the conclusion, in a way that validates the experiences forced on Anna and John.

Series 2/AU - After John leaves with Vera, Anna is devastated. But what if someone had come along to mend Anna's broken heart? When John returns about to be free from his wife, and ready to marry Anna; he may not find things exactly how he left them. Will John fight to keep the love of his life? Or will he let his insecurities get in the way, and watch her slip away to another man?

(Set after S1 and goes AU after that) Anna and Bates find themselves facing the far-reaching consequences of one lapse of self-control.

The whole rape storyline and murder of series 4 felt a bit gratuitous and rushed in the end. I wanted to explore John's emotions and how he plotted Green's retribution.

Season 4 Spoiler Alert: John knows. The truth surrounds them both. They embrace it, return to the cottage together, but how will they move forward from here?
