Arthur, Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table are ordered by Uther to investigate rumors of a sorcerer in the woods. Things don't go quite as planned, as usual, and secrets long hidden are brought painfully to light. Magic reveal and spoilers up to season 4.

When Arthur is not himself, Merlin can't bear it, and leaving the knights may be the biggest mistake in his life. In a time when Merlin's magic is outed and accepted -something he never thought possible months ago- Arthur is shown that despite knowing how strong Merlin is, he doesn't fully understand -comprehend- just how powerful he truly is. A dangerous conflict in which Merlin all but sacrifices himself to save everyone else, shows Arthur that there is far more to Merlin than he thought.

A re-write of The Broken Past. The world is made by the paths people choose to take. And Camelot is on a path that leads almost inevitably towards destruction. But that path can be averted and a new path taken. But only if people learn to understand.
