Arthur, Merlin, & the knights, depart on a quest to rid the northern villages of some magical beasts. The journey takes a turn when Merlin is injured. To far from Camelot to turn back, the group must press forward in order to save both Merlin and the outlying villages. Arthur decides to to go on a super secret mission and to no one's surprise, it takes him and Merlin through the Valley of the Fallen Kings. One thing leads to another and Arthur finds out about Merlin's magic. No slash.

It started as a few tweaks and became a rewrite of Season 5 … what if the last season had not been about Mordred and Arthur's doom? What if Merlin used that great power he has and Arthur showed the sense one would expect of a leader and they built Albion together? Which may not be easy ... Arthur looked up at the sky, trying to hide his wet eyes. The left half of Merlin's chest was covered in a big purple bruise, with five puncture wounds in the center, blood oozing out slowly, but constantly. "I've seen worse. I've definitely seen worse."
