A nice bit of baby bates fluff after John and Anna return from the race at Brooklands in series 6 episode 7. My way of trying to rectify the lack of scenes we have received so far showing the Bateses preparing for the arrival of their little one.

Anna doesn't believe in ghosts, and refuses to be scared by Daisy before her walk back to the cottage on Hallowe'en. John won't be home until late, but she's certain she will be fine. But when she's all alone back at the cottage, she hears a scratching noise, and a sudden eerie wail...

eady-of-old gave me the idea for this fic on Tumblr. John and Anna are reunited after his release from prison, but the cottage is not ready! Anna longs to find a way around their separation. John has other ideas, and begins writing secret notes to Anna during his copious free time. It's not M yet, but it will be... DISCLAIMER DA is not mine but it is fun to borrow!

Spoiler Warning for Series 6, episode 4. This was just my interpretation of what went on in Bates head when Anna rushed off to London with Lady Mary in the middle of the night and his reaction to the news upon her return.
