"This…" Gintoki yelled above the undefined croaking, his hands also firmly pressed to his ears because he was kidding himself into thinking his eardrums could be saved from the inhuman sound. "…is Shinpachi singing!"- Or: The family enjoys spending a nice evening at the karaoke… and Hijikata has no idea what he has gotten himself into.

The edge of Gintoki's mouth curves up in a smirk, but it is softer than usual. Maybe because of the feeling behind it. "Because I really want to kiss you right now."

'I love you.' Gintoki wants to say. But the words are missing from his mouth.

"…You shouldn't be here." Hijikata murmured in a hushed tone. Gintoki's voice was sure when he spoke. "And you think that's enough to keep me away from you?"

AU Modern Setting. Unemployed, unimpressed and idle Sakata Gintoki got by just fine until a depressing piece of his past decided to make an appearance.

In a land without a 4th wall and a time of dick jokes, the destiny of Sakata Gintoki rests on the shoulders of a young fanfic writer! That means crazy writer decides to send the characters to the real world. A war against Sorachi-sensei is about to begin. Hijigin stuff.

They were going on their initial paths, when at the last moment, while they were walking towards each other, Gintoki's yukata brushed against the fabric of Hijikata's jacket. It was the briefest of contacts and it lasted only a second, but even as the temperature was warm their forearms felt just a bit warmer. ...Or this is simply my version of how two dumb samurai fall in love.

"I promise I'll make you happy in the next life." When he made his promise, Gintoki knew that those words he had whispered carried weight themselves. Gintoki and Hijikata wake up in the same bed with no memories of the night before, so Hijikata does what he knows best, launch an investigation. No angst, no drama, just comedy, action, lots of trolling and a bit of a plot. (Update: Ok, maybe there's more plot and drama than originally anticipated).

Gin pulls out a DVD that all the fans were raving about during a Gintoki sensei session, the one with the two of them in a BDSM play in the cover. "You mean this, Hijikata-kuuun?" He draws out that last syllable with that sadistic grin of his, and Hijikata chokes on his tobacco.

Crappy title, but there you go. Gintoki and Hijikata get kidnapped by some Amanto, things go wrong and there is a lack of fluff. Sorry about that. Warning for rape (not GinHiji rape though).
