One of Sherlock's long fingers tap a file folder on the table once, sliding it forward a few inches on the table. It's blank, save for the three letters in bold stickers reading HOL on the tab. Sherlock has difficulty navigating life. There are lots of reasons why and this fic explores some of the reasons and their effects. I'm not good at summaries, you'll have to actually read it to know what this is about. Lots of angst and there'll be a lot of H/C in the last chapter.

John finds Sherlock three years after he thought he'd buried him, scared and injured; broken to such an extent he can barely recognise those trying to help him. Battling against too many unanswered questions and his own feelings, John sets out to put him back together, but never stops to consider Sherlock's return may be part of a greater punishment in store for the both of them.
