I've noticed that the writers of the stories I like often like the type of stories that I read. These stories cover the better stories that I like to read into an archive so you don't have to sift through that which isn't your cup of tea (or coffee). Mostly yaoi or shonenai, time-travel, AU, what-ifs and crossovers displaying favourite cliches (ie Harry-Potter-Goes-To-Different-School-Because-Dumbledore-Is-A-(censored)). No highschool fics. Ick.
