Emma wants to be a superhero. Regina has to fix up the mistakes Emma makes. And...when things get hard and Emma can't see the right way, maybe Regina has the chance to be a hero.

Someone has given a love potion to Emma. Only, well, it didn't work quite the way they'd hoped. Turns out they got a few ingredients wrong and not only does Emma think she's a dog but she seems to find one Regina Mills quite...fetching.

AU After Emma and Mary Margaret return from Fairy Tale Land. Emma notices that Regina isn't in the diner and goes to the mansion to collect her when she discovers Henry didn't invite his mom. When Hook shows up at Emma's door, he's shocked to find that Emma's got a baby. Meanwhile, in the Enchanted Forest, a Wicked Witch is wrecking havoc. Emma needs to remember and find her way back to once again become The Savior - but at what cost? Everyone soon learns that things aren't always as they seem and progress can often be painful. Regina temporarily assumes Hook's appearance to kiss Emma and convince her wicked sister that Emma has lost her powers.

It's the first time she's really thought about it, but as she drops the bag she's carrying to the floor and takes in the little space, she realizes that this is her home. This place, more than the mansion she'd lived in for her entire childhood, this tiny little apartment is her home. It's where she belongs.

"I assume," Emma says, dunking the first ball in one of her beers and then rolling it between her fingers, "that we're playing house rules?" Killian's eyes cut down to where Regina is still sitting, stewing, and he laughs. "Oh I'd say so, love."

Hot coffee, a collision, and Emma's tight clothes lead to a very awkward situation... and a realization, too.

"It's just, I uh, I figure that if – and it's still a big if – but if I'm going to be dating your mom, then I'm going to be dating you too." Emma's eyes got big as she realized what she said. "Oh, no, wait. No. God. No. That sounds wrong. Like, really wrong. I'm not like that." Henry giggled at Emma's discomfort and Regina had to work to hide her own smile.

"This is Christmas for you? Songs about men gift wrapping their penises and sketches where men vomit singing Christmas carols and women make lewd comments about baked goods that can easily be misconstrued?" She just can't understand how any of this could put Emma in the holiday spirit.

"It's my birthday and –" she was unable to finish the sentence as yet another sneeze took over, followed by a coughing fit. When she was finally able to draw breath properly again, she flopped back on the pillows, grabbing yet another tissue. "This sucks."

And now the pieces are so clear, the signs so blindingly obvious, that Emma wonders how it is that it took her this long to realize what was always there. Although, she supposes, when you don't want to see something, it's very easy to ignore it. And she certainly didn't want to see this. Not this. Never this.
