After they snap at Gabriel during one of their many fights, the youngest Archangel at a mere 12,000 (equivalent to 12 human years) runs away. He runs to Earth where he is attacked and saved by Thor. He hasn't aged a day, as an angel ages at the same rate their grace does, and only an angel can actually teach an angel. His life was going great until the Winchesters showed up!

In facing the Trickster, Sam and Dean are unknowingly left with the one thing that can get him on their side. His little charge, Castiel.

Instead of facing his brother in the Hotel Elysian and facing his ultimate death, Gabriel brings his secret weapon. A small, black haired, blue eyed, white robe with golden trim wearing, toddler who was just woken up from his nap. For if there is one person who could get Lucifer to do anything, it was him. Dean Winchester is left wondering, who knew Lucifer was such a softy.

It was meant to be a simple salt and burn, with Castiel being the bait to a monster who feeds on small young angels. When Dean changes the plans unexpectedly and allows Castiel to be caught by the angel eating monster, he quickly learns why it is a bad idea to upset an Archangel's charge. Least to say, Big Brother Gabriel is watching you Dean Winchester.

With Michael and Lucifer duking it out in Stull Cemetery and the Winchesters plus Bobby taking cover, Gabriel has one more trick up his sleeve.
