At school in Maryland, Sam had a friend who did everything with him, watched out for him, and dealt with the mean kids that bullied him. It didn't matter than no one else could see Hêlêl. And it was surely just coincidence, that Maryland was where, years later, Lucifer's cage would be opened, and that his friend's name translated to 'Morningstar'. Pre-series. Implied Samifer.

The night before Swan Song. Confused, desperate, and lonely, Sam seeks out Lucifer in an attempt to ascertain whether he's doing the right thing. What follows leaves him with no doubts.

Lucifer wanted so much for Sam to understand. If he'd just been able to explain, to give his side of the argument. If he could have just let Sam know how much he truly cared for him. Lucifer addresses his thoughts to Sam on everything he truly wanted to say.

No matter how bad something was, you can still miss it. A terrible curse or not, sometimes Sam can't deny the connection they had, and the hole it left behind now that Lucifer is gone. Warning: suicidal thoughts, concepts of self-harm.

In some ways, Michael was a hypocrite. He would later criticise his younger brother for his jealousy of the humans, but Michael had always been jealous of Lucifer. Lucifer was the second son, so Michael didn't see why it seemed he was always the one in second place. Sometimes, Michael wasn't a very good sibling.
