This story follows on from the dramatic events of "Turn, Turn, Turn". Ward goes deep undercover, aligning himself with Agent Garrett to takedown Hydra and to return S.H.I.E.L.D. to what it once was. She doesn't know if it would ever have worked between them had events not happened the way they did. If HYDRA was discovered before it had been, she'd have never been shot and Ward would have never realized his love for her. Despite the damage to that love, it was sacred and not something to be messed with.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. AU in which Skye finds herself unable to accept Ward being evil. The only Grant Ward she can see is the one that protected her from guards and made her feel safe. She goes with him at the end of 119 in an attempt to reason with him.

After a mission goes horribly wrong Grant decides to throw caution to the wind and asks Skye to marry him and they try and fail to keep their marriage a secret from the team or Grant and Skye are idiots who elope in Paris and Coulson is going to kill Ward when he finds out.

"Looking at Skye after close to ten years Ward found he couldn't help but fall in love all over again, she was still beautiful but her eyes definitely held a hauntedness he hadn't seen before." Upon registering his daughter for SHIELD Youth Academy and applying for a teaching position, Ward finds himself face to face with the woman he'd given up years before. Post HYDRA

Skye must learn how to cope with her new abilities and learn to trust those around her because the months she'd lay in a coma after the Temple leaves her in a familiar yet unfamiliar world.
