I saw the films, I knew the death that awaited the line of Durin on Ravenhill. To change that ending, I was willing to take the dangerous journey to Erebor and beyond. But how could I prevent this fate when I could not alter a single film scene. It seemed to be an impossible task and armed with nothing but a pendant and a riddle, answers had to come from elsewhere else.
