My Entry for Season Of Our Discontent: Edward has loved Jasper since the day they met. His every waking thoughts are about him, but something is not right, something has changed.

Silent sobs tore from my throat, ripping the tatters of my heart into smaller pieces. Eventually, what was left was going to look like the sand in my yard- so small that even a breeze could pick it up and blow it away until what was inside matched what I wanted to feel- nothing. AH

After years of marriage and promises of a lifetime together, Bella and Edward have drifted apart. Forever turned out to be a lot shorter than she expected. The lullaby, which at one point gave her comfort, is now a reminder of how far they'd drifted apart.

After Edward attends the wedding of his beloved Bella to Jacob Black, he reminisces over the deadly mistakes he made which utterly destroyed his happiness. He returns home and sits at his piano. That little act ultimately leads to tragedy. Warning: Death of a major character.
