If Beth had NOT been kidnapped and Daryl and she had stayed on the road together: On the road, searching for safety, searching for community, keeping an eye out for their dispersed group, Daryl and Beth make a go of it as best they can, becoming a solid unit of two. Encountering both the living and the dead, they must fight not only for survival but for faith the fight is worth it.

This is part of my what if Walking Dead story where Carl never gets bit by the walker and lives on. Rick still gets caught in the explosion but Carl had to make a promise to Michonne to take care of Judith and RJ while she goes out to find Rick.

They don't have time but he makes time anyway, time to tell her who she is to him, what she means, how he feels. (Mild spoilers for "The World Before.")

Ezekiel has lost everything; he lost his son, he lost his wife, he lost his community. Perhaps he will never gain any of it back. Perhaps a second chance is just the miracle he needs.

She was as silent as the day outside. It seemed even the birds stopped chirping when he came across the scarred girl. But when the real enemy is around the corner, and their new lives are at stake, Daryl must use his last bit of trust in humanity to protect this sweet stranger, even if it messes with his head along the way. My submission for Bethyl Holidays Fest 2019 - Thanksgiving prompts Family and Dinner (is that cheating? Too bad.) Beth has Thanksgiving dinner all planned out (well, as planned out as she can make it), but when an unfortunate accident keeps her from achieving her goals, Daryl steps up and surprises her in more ways than one.

Kayla Wilmington joins the Atlanta group on the highway and is welcomed by some and not so much by others. She eventually finds a home among the group, but as time goes on, she finds even more of a home with Daryl. The two begin something neither of them expected to find at the end of the world with one another as the fight every day to make sure they always make it home.

Michonne was in fact, very thankful for this beach day.

Corporal Esther Williams had borne witness the end of the world on many occasions. Her world revolved around loss, death and war. With the end of the world hot on her heels, she must do what is right for her country, but the fire is burning beneath her feet and she knows she has limited time to get away all the while keeping her comrades safe. I look at the many graves around me—too many graves, too many casualties to this world. People I couldn't save, losses I'd give anything to not have to carry. Staring at the open grave before me, I recite, "Those who have crossed with direct eyes, to death's other kingdom, remember us—if at all—not as lost, violent souls, but only as the hollow men."

The Walking Dead: Season 3C. A new gate is installed at the prison; Rick's fears about letting Carl go along on a supply run are realized.

Events as they may have unfolded as the survivors found themselves trapped in a cave.
