Will Beth ever let Jack in? He's desperate to get her to open up to him and make things right with his pay but can he really change for good? Pretty Beth/Jack from the start. Rated K for now but will change later on.

Jack knows his boss is perfectly capable of taking care of herself and is very independent. He also knows she's hiding something, something that's potentially dangerous, and he wants to help her. The problem is, he isn't so sure she wants his help. While out for drinks with Ben and Janice, he tries to get them on board with his plan. Not a romantic story.

Beth finds out Jack's secret and is understandably angry.
