An extension of a scene in chapter 23, "Under the Umbrella". A shopkeeper mistakes Jo and Friedrich for a couple. He's wrong, of course ... but only by a few minutes.

Before Jo started writing to please the public, she wrote only for herself. I imagined her writing fictional snippets about romance, war, and antiquity, all of which seemed to appeal to her at the time. This is a story without end or beginning that I think Jo would have written something similar to.

Beth, as she grew sicker and assured of her quickly approaching death, spent much of her time thinking in peaceful silence. In fact, Beth was rather quiet and thoughtful all her life. This poem, "The Girl in the Corner", is based around Beth's short, meaningful life, and how she could have changed so much more in the world for the better if people took the time to notice her.

For the wedding, she invites her sisters Jo and Beth and her old friend Laurie. Beth meets Fred's brother Frank again and together they'll try to manage a true Happily ever after for sister Jo.

Twins in twenty-first New England get pulled into the world of Little Women in a freak accident. How will they deal with the new world around them, unable to remember where they came from or make sense of where they are right now. (Loosely based on Little Women and Me, though I thought the idea behind the book was badly executed, I still really liked the idea itself.)

One afternoon, after a fight with his grandfather, Laurie storms into the music room, unaware that Beth is at the piano. He broods, she softly plays. His anger dissipates and he joins her at the piano, and they make beautiful melodies.

Jo takes Beth on "A nice little trip to the seashore" to help her get better, and to deal with the affects of what happened between herself and Laurie. But She is distracted from her own cares with the impression that Beth was not getting well, she was getting worse. Will she die? Or will a stranger step in who can do something to prevent it?
