Just a character musing about the Black Rider, because I felt like playing with words. What if he was part of the Dark not because he was evil but because that's just how he was made; and what if the Light won because that was just how it was always going to be, but he still had to act out his part in the whole great battle because there was no other choice available to him?

As he now can recall it, his first and only boyhood was spent in waking dreams of how it might feel to be a rabbit or a fish, swift in the grass and sleek under the water, as he stirred the brew of possibilities not meant for him.
