Brianna Baggins and the company of dwarves have reached their destination and now the question remains: can they take back the Lonely Mountain from Smaug and if so, can they defend it?

Thorin finds out things are not always as they seem. This fic is non canon, I've taken liberties with the timeline to suit my story.

Continuation of "I Will Forsake the Stars for You." Tauriel gave her life so Kili may live and was returned to him as a Dwarrowdam. Now their daughter has been born. Hawthorne Baggins is not as respectable as she seems. When Gandalf the Gray comes calling for an adventure, he and most of his companions are in for a surprise.

Fili sighs as he stands from his chair, stretching out the kinks and knots from a day sitting at his desk reading reports. Had he known just how much more paperwork was involved in being Crown Prince of Erebor, as opposed to 'the lost kingdom of', he probably would have worked harder to get Thorin to forget the whole thing. Ten years after reclaiming Erebor, Thorin is attacked and captured by a group of men while on a diplomatic trip. Someone set him up and wants him dead. But who? And who is the mysterious woman who comes to is rescue. A dangerous game of politics ensues and the answers to a decades old mystery comes to light. AU, Everyone lives.
