Short whimsical New Years fic.

Written for the prompt: "Cold" at labyfic @ DW. Inspired by the quotes: "Always Winter, never Christmas" (The Chronicles of Narnia) and "Tink, why are you so cold?" (Peter Pan). 381 words. Post-Labyrinth movie.

During Winter Break, Sarah spends a lot of time with her best friend, Jareth the Goblin King. Somehow this leads to something beyond friendship and into love. A fluffy and loving Christmas story of how I would see their friendship turn into love in 13 days. Includes dates, family, silly fights, lots of sass, and of course, a Mistletoe and New Year's Eve Kiss.

Jareth/Sarah. When Sarah is called to save the King, her life takes a whole new course, again. News for Sarah and an unexpected new job.

The Labyrinth will no longer listen to Jareth for it chose Sarah to free it. Now powerless, Jareth must find someone to teach Sarah magic or those dear to them will be killed. Sarah knows nothing of the Goblin King's past or how much he is hated.

Sarah finds out that Jareth must choose a wife before New Years. What will she do to ensure that she's the one he chooses?

Sarah never forgot the Labyrinth, or its seductively dark King Jareth. Now as a college student she hopes to recapture that essence and in doing so is invited to a traditional Beltane festival where she enters the Dance of the Night King, and is chosen to be his Bride. The clock begins to tick as the Night King will only have a year and a day to prove his love to his Champion.

Conceived and posted 12-25-18 You can add more to the backstory if you want. I just came up with this cute scene in less than a halfhour and didn't feel like it needed more.

When her college roommate, Liz and a former childhood friend disappear, it leads Sarah back to the Underground where a competition is being held to find a consort for Jareth. Sarah enters the competition in disguise in the hopes of rescuing them. When she is selected as a consort, she and the Goblin King come to an arrangement that will bring dangers untold and hardships unnumbered

Fairy tales have certain rules. Don't trust wolves. Don't stay out past midnight. Stepmothers are inevitably evil. Labyrinths must be run. And beauties belong with beasts.

Even though Jareth had returned Sarah and Toby home, he and his goblins stuck around her house for months. But their torment inadvertently gets her institutionalized by her parents. But if the right words are said, Jareth could save her from the mental ward. Will she say them? Will he oblige? Or perhaps she really is crazy? J/S

This story follows "Marblecake" and "Bride of Didymus". How far will the Goblin King go, to maintain power? What will be ask of his subjects - and of Sarah? What will his subjects do, to achieve freedom? Rated T.
