This short story draws from the love life of a young James Wilkins as first explored in my story, "A Long and Lonely Mile". It discusses the history of the Wilkins Family and the Hardwick Family, the birth of the city of Waterford, SC and the effect that Wilkins had on his community when he joined the loyalist colonial militia.
