Lusa is a normal small black bear with a wonderful birth home until bear hunters had trapped her family leaving herself all alone, as she goes on traveling for help to find her family... her journey begins.

Kalik, the polar bear, falls through the ice on her journey to land. She loses hope for a minute, but gets it back. She slowly gets out and loses her mother and brother.

Reading Spirits in the Stars, I recall a scene where Ujurak is thinking about Sally and is feeling rather depressed. I thought this here scene would have been a good idea fro Erin Hunter to add.

A small family of black bears have traveled to Great Bear Lake to celebrate "The Longest Day," expecting it to go by normal and unprovoked, but when chaos ensues, one falls to the ground, and the two brothers soon find that they must embark on their greatest journey to survive.
