After suffering from nightmares about his pending death, Loki escapes Asgards prison with the help of an old friend to prevent a massive tragedy that would affect everyone in the entire universe. So, like any good God, he locks the Avengers and friends in their tower and forces them to watch Infinity War to prevent them from making the same mistakes. (AKA a watching the movie fic)

But, a day or so after the events in Sokovia, it's a new guy's turn to do the Earth's Mightiest Heroes' coffee run, and this one's different in more than just appearance. Bucky and Steve go to Vormir to obtain the soul stone, not knowing what the cost will be.

Loki has faced many challenges in his long life, and always comes out on top. But after being forced to attack the earth and falling before the Avengers, he has a new and unfamiliar set of challenges, including but not limited to staying out of jail, dealing with his new roommate's idiosyncrasies, and regaining his memories of his time with Thanos.

Somewhere deep down, Steve knew that they should move. Yet he couldn't bring himself to do so. In fact, the thought alone of letting go of the shivering woman in his arms seemed to hurt him in a way that nothing had ever done before.

Thor/Avengers AU: While out for his daily run, Steve Rogers stumbles across Loki. There's only one glaring difference to how the Captain remembers the god of Mischief and how he appears now. Loki doesn't look like he can be older than six or seven years of age, nor can Steve ignore the utter terror he sees in the boys eyes.

So, Steve decides he doesn't want to cause Bucky anymore grief and the best way to fix everything Steve had done to his friends he erases himself from time.
