After Connor releases the androids from Cyberlife, Markus and the rest of Jericho expect him to join and help combat abuse and hatred towards androids. Although joining Jericho would mean leaving the DPD and more importantly Hank who he had started to think of as a father figure to him.

Everything morphed into one collective reality, indicating that nothing in this weird world could actually exist. A deviant sense of fear told Connor he had died, but logic informed him that this was a dream-like state — mere projections of slivers of reality whilst he lay in a state of stasis. Less than a year after the peaceful Android Revolution a mysterious cult has been kidnapping and brutalizing families.
