With the Android crimes taking over she is pulled off her normal homicide cases to help her fellow detectives bring down the rising Deviants. Lieutenant Hank Anderson is tired and miserable. One day he had to ask Bob why he had put him in the android crimes division all by himself. On second thought … there was no need to ask. Connor finds himself waking up one-day experiencing a major malfunction. Unbeknownst to him and other's, he finds out for some unexplained reason, he's become human. Solving the deviancy case just became a whole lot more complicated as he tries to find his place in this new circumstance and learns just how complicated being human can be.

"Are you afraid to die, Connor?" . . . "...yes, Lieutenant. I am afraid. I don't want to die."

Sequel to Family Ties. "It's been months. How do we know the vics are still alive?" Hank raises a very good point, and they all turn their eyes towards the newcomer, already knowing his answer will either make or break their case. "I received a message, two days ago. They're still alive, I know it. I need to help them."

Connor has faced many challenges in his short life, the Revolution, deviating, Hank, the hostage situation, but all androids start somewhere. Before everything to come, Connor must pass the rigorous testing set before him by CyberLife and one very perplexed Technician.

Days before Christmas, Hank and Connor stumble upon an impossibility: an android that appears like a teenager, who seems mute. He won't speak, won't interface, and nobody knows who he is. Terrified of the world around him, Connor is determined to show the boy that the world doesn't have to be such a scary place. What better way than to follow his father's example?
