However, an awful event occurs which threatens to tear everything apart. Follow Lorelai, Luke and Rory as they overcome ups and downs in their life in Stars Hollow.

When Lorelai got pregnant at 16, it wasn't with Rory. It was with her older brother, James. Lorelai and Christopher got married. Christopher followed in his father's footsteps and became a lawyer. When James was two, Rory came along. They grew up in Hartford and went to Chilton Academy.

Sequel to A Hard Knock Life. This story picks up at the end of the summer following high school graduation. The teenage boy that Jess adopted is starting college, dealing with Jess dating, and working on the transition to adulthood.

Jess had not seen Rory in almost 4 years, he expected to see her when he headed home to Stars Hollow for Luke's wedding. Rory has been a shock to the system since the day they met so long ago. Jess had no idea how the suggestion of writing down her life story would through his own life into a tizzy. Jess had forgotten the GILMORE effect. This is my take on the aftermath of a YITL

Jess arrives back in Stars Hollow with an aching in his chest and the seemingly impossible task of saving Rory Gilmore from going off the deep end. (Or: an AYITL rewrite where Literati gets the love and attention they deserve.)
