This is a continuation of a chapter from the BOOK, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, not the tv show. Chloe and Alek are at Mai headquarters, and really need some privacy, but apparently nobody understands how to knock, lol. Sorry I'm bad at summaries, please read! Set approximately two months after the season finale and Brian's death. Chloe feels alone and scared, she has lost one more life since the night Brian died and has been having nightmares every night since as well. The night that Brian died Valentina died as well, leaving Jasmine - who survived - in charge, and Zane has vanished.

Alek knows he's a walking cliche. He fell for his best friend, Chloe. . .who's taken by a college guy. Most of the time, anyways. He's just not sure how much longer he can keep up being her "friend."

[Written in 2nd person from Alek] You have an extremely hard time trying to understand what this is, how you feel - is this terrifying or exhilarating? You don't understand why it's her, why she's the one who does this to you. But it keeps happening. And the only thing you can do is let it.

Maybe he just liked to see her agitated and annoyed. Confused, overwhelmed, defiant; they were all good looks for her. Or, perhaps, there was some sort of ulterior motive he was not yet aware of. CHALEK.

When Chloe becomes the most wanted Mai will a certin Alek beable to win her hand and her heart?

Redoing it because the first was pretty bad, but I still think it has a cool plot so I didn't want to just throw it away so I'm starting again. Please give this one a chance. Set after S01E07. It rains so instead of greeting Alec outside, Chloe lets him in.

When Chloe is either going to be forced to leave the pride, or pretend she's engaged to Alek, what will she choose? Will she try and be with Alek if it means staying within her pride? What will truly come out of it? And what about her relationship with Brian?
