In the midst of the aftermath of events with Stefan, Aurora goes missing. Where has she gone? Has she been taken? Maleficent and Diaval's relationship takes new twists and turns in their effort to find her. Sequel to Innocence Lost.

The Kingdom is overthrown, Philip's home Ulstead faces possible war and Diavel thinks Maleficent is hiding something from him. What's a young Queen to do? Aurora and Maleficent story. Maleficent is forced to deal with feelings buried long ago when Diaval confesses his feelings for her. It gets worse when she finds out that, to the Dark Fae, Diaval is already her mate, and the soul bond they share is the strongest ever felt in centuries.

Continuation of the original 2014 film. Story follows the events/misadventures of Maleficent, her raven aide-de-camp, and their adopted "goddaughter," the Princess Aurora, as they build kingdoms, "interspecies peace," and if Diaval can swing it, maybe even a pretty, new nest.

Maleficent has been both guardian and protector to the Moors. One day she is betrayed by a human she once viewed as a friend and perhaps more. Afterward Maleficent cut the Moors off from the humans and her heart from love. Throughout all this Maleficent wasn't alone. Phillip is keen on having a reunion with Aurora once again, but Maleficent? Not so much...

Aurora had always been careless. For better or for ill, that innocence had not faded with time. Maleficent loved it, for sure, but it did make keeping the young girl safe a bit tricky at times. But then again, parents nagging their children to stay safe was all part and parcel of having a family. Maleficent (and Aurora) would just have to get used to it!

AU: When Queen Ingrith dares to suggest she would be a better mother for Aurora than Maleficent, it isn't Maleficent who has the big outburst, but rather, it is Aurora, who is just as protective of Maleficent as Maleficent is of her. And then later, when a guard makes the same mistake with Diaval, Aurora is just as quick to defend him too.

This fanfiction is set a couple of months before Maleficent brings Aurora into the Moors. Diaval is about to die from a terrible disease and Maleficent has to say goodbye.

Maleficent has had a bad feeling all night, and cannot seem to place what is wrong. However, it soon occurs to her that something is awry with her dearest Beastie. It is up to her to find out what has happened. Super fluffy mother/daughter feels with Aurora and Maleficent and some angst. It is Pre-Maleficent 2.

When nightmares plague Aurora, it takes both Diaval and Maleficent to calm her down and not for the first time does she realize how lucky she is to have such a loving family. And the feeling is mutual, Diaval and Maleficent drawing just as much strength and comfort from each other and Aurora as Aurora draws from. It's exactly what family is really all about.

Aurora is attacked in her own castle, luckily, Maleficent arrives just in time to save her life, but even though the immediate danger is over, there is still a lot of work left to do. With Diaval's help, though, the trio is confident that they will make it back to normality eventually. It will just take time, and family support. Luckily, they all have both in spades.

Maleficent calls Aurora "Beastie" so often that, sometimes, Aurora forgets that her name isn't actually Beastie. That makes moments when Maleficent DOES use Aurora's real name that much more effective. There's nothing like the good old Full (or in this case, First) Name weapon!
