When Connor returns with all of them to Willoughby after the war, things between him and Bass are worse than ever. Connor starts drinking more and becomes more aggressive towards him and Miles. Bass doesn't know what to do, now he is slowly losing his kid. When what is left of his life is going to hell, it is Charlie who is there for him.

Starts off after Jason's death and loosely follows Season 2. Pretty heavy Charloe, but not extremely fluffy. Basically, Charlie is really messed up in the head and Bass draws her to his side. The first chapter mentions suicide.

Is he doing it for his own selfish reasons to get back to Miles or is it something entirely different, when he comes to think of it? For an answer to his problems and a way to turn the lights back on? Or for a reunion with an old friend? Whatever it is, it's got something to do with a blue eyed recruit, who knows far more than she'll admit.

And that, that has saved her from the path she had been on after the Tower and then again, after what she had to do to save her life in Austin. Being able to see that, had brought her back to herself and everything she believes is true in life.'

How can simple moments and small conversations lead to so much more... I wanted to explore the evolution of their relationship, particularly with the idea that Charlotte has her own issues to deal with and Bass needs to find his place in the world at this point in the show.
